Quartz LIMS Connector — Getting Started
Prerequisites
- Microsoft 365: Your organization must have a Microsoft Teams subscription.
- Teams Admin Access: A Teams administrator must approve the app installation (or your organization must allow sideloading/app store installs).
Step 1: Install from the Teams App Store
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Navigate to Apps in the left sidebar.
- Search for Quartz LIMS Connector.
- Click Add to install the bot to your personal chat, or click the dropdown to add it to a specific team or channel.
Step 2: Note Your Tenant ID
When the bot is installed, it sends a welcome card displaying your Tenant ID. This is a unique identifier for your Microsoft 365 organization.
Copy this Tenant ID — your Quartz LIMS Administrator will need it to complete registration.
Step 3: Register Your Tenant
Your Quartz LIMS Administrator registers your Tenant ID using the Quartz LIMS Admin Tool. This links your Teams organization to your LIMS instance and enables notification delivery.
Registration requires:
- The Tenant ID from the welcome message.
Step 4: Configure Notification Targeting
In your Quartz LIMS App Settings, set up notification rules to target:
- Specific users by email address or UPN — notifications arrive as personal direct messages.
- Specific channels — notifications are posted to the Teams channel where the bot is installed.
Step 5: Verify Your Connection
In the Teams chat with the bot, type test and send. The bot will respond with a sample notification card confirming the connection is active.
